Queriscope is operated by Visiontale Studio Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Queriscope platform (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Queriscope is a crowdfunded research platform. Users submit research questions ("proposals"), the community funds proposals they want answered, and qualified researchers apply for and are assigned to funded proposals to investigate and deliver findings.
Queriscope acts as an intermediary platform connecting curious people with researchers. We do not conduct research ourselves and do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any research delivered through the Service.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We reserve the right to request proof of age and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this requirement.

When you pledge to fund a proposal, your payment card is securely saved via Stripe using a SetupIntent. Your card is not charged at the time of pledging. Your card will only be charged if and when the proposal reaches its funding goal.
Charges are processed only after the proposal reaches its funding goal. You will receive notification before any charge is processed. The amount charged will be exactly the amount you pledged.
You may cancel your pledge at any time before charges are processed (i.e., before the proposal reaches its funding goal). Cancelled pledges will release any card authorization, and you will not be charged.
Before funding goal is reached: If a proposal's funding deadline passes without reaching its goal, all pledges are automatically cancelled and no charges are made. You may also cancel voluntarily at any time before the goal is reached.
After funding goal is reached: Once your card has been charged, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If research is not delivered or is materially deficient, you may request a refund within 30 days of the charge. We will review refund requests and respond within 14 business days.
All amounts are in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified.
You retain ownership of proposals, comments, and other content you submit to the Service. By posting content, you grant Queriscope a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content in connection with the Service.
Research findings delivered through the Service are licensed to funders for personal, non-commercial use. Researchers retain ownership of their work unless otherwise agreed.
The Queriscope name, logo, and platform design are our intellectual property. You may not use these without our written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Visiontale Studio Inc., operating Queriscope, and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
